Vår moderforening, International Law Association (ILA), har etablert en ny studiegruppe med navnet «Study Group on International Law, Human Rights & Islands«. Noen av spørsmålene gruppen skal drøfte er: Hvordan definerer man en øy i folkeretten? Er det behov for et spesielt rettslig regime for øyer?
Studiegruppen avholder åpne møter for å introdusere gruppas arbeid den 22. september. Her er mer informasjon om den nye studiegruppen, som våre medlemmer også skal ha mottatt direkte fra ILA:
The ILA Study Group on International Law, Human Rights & Islands was created in May 2025. Further information on the Study Group is available here.
Two Introductory sessions will be held online on 22nd September 2025 at 7am (BST) and 1pm (BST) to allow for members in different time zones to attend. Each session will contain the same content. Members who may be interested in joining the Study Group are strongly encouraged to attend.

Members are kindly reminded that the process for joining ILA Study Groups is different to that of ILA Committees. Members will need to submit their CVs to the Study Group Chair following the sessions who will then liaise with the ILA Director of Studies (DOS) regarding the selection and appointment.
